Bellevue Place Hyatt Expansion

The expansion of the Hyatt in Bellevue consists of 350 guestrooms, 3 floors of meeting rooms and 5 floors of underground parking.

Contractor:
GLY Construction

Architect:
Sclater Partners Architects

Completion Date:
July 2009

This expansion project doubled the size of the hotel and added two of the largest ballrooms in Bellevue.

The prefunction on the first floor included extensive wall paneling including the columns and base.

Wood slats between the paneled columns were installed in several niches.  The slats are suspended by steel rods running vertically.  The base features fold down doors to access the light fixtures.

Transom panels above the ballroom doors tie into the hollow metal doors frames.

Concealed rod exit devices and custom pulls open these ballroom doors.

The grand staircase leading to the existing wintergarden features a wood rail cap that follows the metal railings curves and rakes.

Typical floor corridors on levels 3 - 20 included the installation of over 14,000 feet of crown molding and base.  In addition to the wood entry door casing over timely metal door frames.

In the 350 guestrooms we installed over 67,000 lineal feet of crown molding and baseboard and over 1,250 door openings.  Vanity cabinets and drapery valances rounded out the work in the typical rooms while the guestroom suites and meeting suites received custom casework and wet bar cabinets.

General contractor GLY Construction kept the project rolling and were a pleasure to work with.
